Top 5 Ways to Impress Home Buyers

Remember when you found your house? You walked in and felt that it was a great fit for you and your family. Now that you sell your house, You need to give the next potential buyer the same impression. Here’s how it should be done.

1. Clean and de-clutter
Make sure to sparkle your kitchen, bathrooms, and floors. Use old – fashioned elbow grease or call for the job to be done by professional cleaners. Can you enter to your walk-in closet? Is your car just fitting into your garage? Start early packing and store your personal and seasonal stuff. Make your rooms and dressing rooms look spacious.
2. Repair the little stuff
Place on your home inspector‘s hat and go through your house. Make a list of items that require care and arrange repairs. Concentrate on your entrance, drywall, paint, sticky/squeaky doors, leaky faucets, floors, and countertops.
3. Help buyers see themselves in your home
Remove pictures and personal memories of your family. Pack up your collection if you’re a collector. When your personal items are on display, buyers have trouble picturing themselves in your house.
4. Let the light flow in
Bright homes often have a higher value for resale. Clean your windows, inside and out. (Consider hiring a professional.) To let natural light in, pull back blinds and draperies. If you still have some dark spots, add floor or table lamps to the area.
5. Groom your yard
You would not go to a job interview without being well groomed, so make sure your yard is groomed for viewings. Trim your hedges and shrubs. Cut the grass. Pull weeds and cut back any greenery that covers walkways
